Zone Waiver 2022-2023
Dear Parents:
Okeechobee County Schools are now accepting zone waivers for the 2022-2023 school year. If your child is currently on a zone waiver and you wish your child to remain at their current school, you do not need to fill out a zone waiver.
You must complete a zone waiver application if:
- You would like your child to attend a school outside of his/her attendance zone next school year for the first time.
- If your child is moving to a next level and you would like for your child to attend a school outside of his/her attendance zone for the next school year. (ie – Elementary to Middle School, Middle to High School).
- Zone waivers must be submitted electronically at this link https://forms.gle/eoSMnSzxfKM3c8pd8 or at the school for which you are requesting attendance for your child for the 2021-2022 school year, if it is a new school.
Applications will be accepted beginning Monday, May 2, 2022 and ending Friday, May 20, 2022. In order for
schools to plan for staff and classroom needs, applications will not be accepted after that date, Due to state class
size requirements, space may be limited at your school of choice and will affect the number of waivers approved.
Zone waivers may be accepted again after school starts next year, depending on available space. Please read the zone
waiver form carefully to ensure that all requirements are understood. All zone waivers must be fully completed,
signed, and delivered to the correct school in order to be accepted and processed during this time period.
Notification of approval or denial will be returned with report cards in June.
